How I lost 7lb in 7 days...

6:56 pm

Well, I actually lost 8lb but 7lb suited the title more!

I've always been one of those people to start a diet and then not pursue it to reach my end goal.

This has been the easiest diet by far. I've changed my eating habits and included some easy work outs.

1.5inch lost off my thighs, I've dropped a dress size and I've lost 8lb.. in a week!

Basically, I've eaten nothing but fruit and veg, stews, casseroles etc and snacked on celery and salad when peckish. I've halved the amount of sugar I used to have in hot drinks and switched from full fat to semi skimmed milk. My figure looks fantastic at the moment and I haven't even reached my end goal! I have seen so much more difference this time round than last.

This is the workout I've been doing everyday, give it a try and let me know what you think.

Workout

:)

It's just a British habit. Xx

3:39 pm
Some people say it's a habit, some say it's friendliness.
Others say if you don't get a 'X' at the end of a message people may assume you're either angry and some even class it as a positive emotion indicator.

A kiss of kindness... apparently kiss politics are a serious issue. It's said that the first to send a message with kisses is the friendliest and how many depends on
a) how much they like you
and
b) how friendly they are.

Some say people put kisses (xx) to show gratitude and thanks. Some have said that when they are angry or upset with someone they intentionally leave off the kisses a the end of their messages.

You wouldn't put kisses (xx) to an Ex partner though. That's strange and people can read sooooo far into those few kisses it can cause soooo many problems.

What do you think?

Brand new Vlog Camera for peanuts!

11:13 pm

So, upon trawling through our local selling site on facebook a few days ago, this popped up. It was listed at £10 didn't say anything else just had a picture. I messaged the seller asked a few questions and found out he was only 2 minutes away from where I were at the time. I bought it there and then.... for £8 ! I know, I asked if he'd take any less... he agreed without hesitation, said it was collecting dust and that he'd never actually used it, he'd only taken it out of the box. I was amazed, it had no blemishes what so ever, came with it's own Samsung bag, all the leads, cables etc and even a 32gb memory card.

This is the Samsung Flashcam for all interested.

I did some research and a few year ago when they were released they were selling for £250! WOW!

So, I intend to start using it fairly soon!

WHAT A BLOODY BARGAIN!

Green or Blue? Are Walkers trying to cause chaos?

8:32 pm

I SWEAR Walkers crisps have changed the colour bags of two of their popular crisps?

Apparently not?

A quote from the Walkers' website -

Question: Why did you change your packaging for Salt and Vinegar and Cheese and Onion so they're in the wrong colours?

Answer: Contrary to popular belief, Walkers Cheese and Onion have always been in blue packets, and Salt and Vinegar have always been in green packets. We don't have a plan to change this, as it's signature to our brand.

So why on earth are Walkers Squares crisps the opposite colours? Cheese and Onion are Green! Way to confuse us!

Not only did I feel the packet colour was worth blogging about.... but now I know why a packet out of a multi pack doesn't fill me up...

Question: Why are there less crisps in your multi pack bags?
Answer: The multi pack bags have always been smaller bags because they are often eaten as part of a meal or used in children's lunch boxes.

Please tell me I'm not alone?

My Hopes & Wishes For 2017

8:45 pm
The beautiful Kayley from Friendly First Foods tagged me in this post and I had to actually get my thinking cap on... I've only just realised we're now in January! I'm so tired from all the Christmas activities and travelling we've done these past two weeks.

Hope everyone had an amazing year last year, if not, I hope you all learnt some valuable lessons you can take into 2017 with you.

My 5 Family Wishes

- I wish Rhun to continue excelling like he has been doing with all aspects of life, including his eating habits which we have had a few set backs with.

- I wish Rhun also continues to be the happy, loving little boy I use daily as my rock, my reason for doing.

- I wish for good health for me and Rhun this year. Last year wasn't very kind to us.
- I wish all my family, friends and everyone in between has an amazing 2017 filled with nothing but love, happiness and joy.

- I wish for all family to succeed with their goals and ambitions this year too.

My 5 blog wishes

- I wish for my blog to be as successful as it can be
- I wish for more open doors and great opportunities as a blogger
- I wish that in 2017 I can step away from all other avenues and work and make my blog a full time job
- I wish to get to know and meet many other bloggers this year
- I wish that my work will reflect the type of person I am

My 5 personal wishes

- I wish to develop more as a blogger
- I wish to be a stronger, successful, more consistent person
- I wish to be medication free for 2017
- I wish for finances to no longer be a worry
- I wish for self happiness

My 5 hopes for 2017

- I hope I can meet many new people this year just as I did last year
- I hope all those struggling, near and far find courage and strength to guide them through hard times

#RockingMotherhood Tag

10:36 pm

The lovely Becci from theunnaturalmother tagged me in this challenge, so here it is.

It's a very challenging but rewarding journey is being a parent. It has it's ups, it has it's downs. It has it's tantrums and proud moments. If you're anything like me most of the time you just count down the time until bed time, even if your child has been an absolute gem. Counting down the hours until bedtime is now a daily routine, it keeps me sane. Even if we are having the most adventurous of days, the funniest of days, or the cuddliest of days... it must be a mum thing.

Here are my 10 reasons I am rocking the sh*t out of Motherhood

  1. I embrace the smaller things in life since becoming a mum. I find pleasure in the simplest of things. Watching helicopters in the sky with my nearly 2 year old, getting excited because it's bin day and it's 20 minutes where both me and my son find some enjoyment. The list goes on. They only know of the simple life at this age.

2. I completely wing motherhood. I take each day as it comes but I do give my child a pretty consistent routine as I think that all children need consistency in their lives.

3. I give the best nuggies and kisses. I'm my sons best friend and he's mine.

3. I am bringing my son up to be the best person he can be. I'm raising him on my own, raising him to treat people whatever sex, colour, abilities the same as he would like to be treated.

5. We have hyper time and it allows me to embrace how childish I really can be. That nearly 2 year old has me doing roly polys and starjumps all over the living room whilst singing 'Let it go' at the top of my voice, in a funny voice, wearing socks on my hands and pants on my head.

 6. I'm teaching him to only need me when he REALLY needs me. I want him to be as independent as he can be, I know he can be. I'm teaching him to be a tough little cookie. Which he is. He's one of the toughest toddlers I know of. Which also means I don't have him whining and running back to me over the smallest of things, he's a boy now, not a baby. It means I can be reassured that when he is crying, it's because he has reason to cry, he wants momma.

7. Following on from pointer 2, I am going at this my own way and do not listen to outside sources. After all, mums know best.

8. I absolutely spoil my son. On my terms only. This means he rarely asks and even then when he does ask for something he knows it's a toss up between getting and not getting something. Less tantrums and a happy momma.

9. My life absolutely revolves around my son, I will do anything to make sure he is happy. I'll take him to the funnest of places, do the silliest of things with him and make sure he constantly has a big smile on his face.

10. I'm raising him to be as healthy as possible so it benefits him in the long run, long walks, lots of running around, consuming minimal chocolate and sugar and learning to enjoy the healthy things in life.

How are you #RockingMotherhood? What would
 your 10 reasons be?

Quiz of the year tag

7:53 pm

A big thanks to the lovely Siobhan from The Baby Boat Diaries for tagging me in this quiz.

Just a few questions I've answered to reflect back on 2016.

What was your highlight of 2016?

There's a lot to choose from, good, bad and ugly that all stand out but the main highlight of my year was moving house. I'd wanted to move house for so many years and finally managed to move last year. That was the middle of Feb so it started our year off on a positive.

Name one thing you are most likely to remember about 2016 if asked in five years time?

One thing? I can think of two things... for some reason these two stick out a lot more than the rest. The first one being Rhuns' first birthday, obviously a memory that will stand out more than other birthdays. The second will have to be having all my wisdom teeth out, I'd never been so excited at the time as I remember the agonising toothache I'd been getting for months on end. So now I can always bring it up in conversation as the whole procedure wasn't as bad as what people make out.

Sum up 2016 in one word.

Painful.

I'd had a lot of hospital admissions last year.

Name one pearl of wisdom from 2016 that you will carry with you through 2017

Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.

Do you have any new year resolutions?

I do! Usually my main resolution is to stop smoking, however, I'd managed that in 2016 mid year so that wasn't on my list this year. This year I have decided to put my everything into my blog!

How are you seeing in the new year?

I spent the New Year with family in Yorkshire. It was so much fun, great company!

What would you most like to do in 2017?

I'd like to be able to return to work full time and look after myself (health wise) a bit better too.

What are your main goals for 2017?

My main goal is to be able to create a larger blog reader and social media following. Pretty simple and realistic goal.

I now challenge the lovely Amy from The Mighty Duxburys, Nicola from Iamcrabstix and Sarah from Ups & Downs, Smiles & Frowns.

Go check out their blogs and see how they summed up 2016 :)

Xx

Happy New Year !

Wishing my readers, followers, friends and family a Happy New Year and all the best for 2017.

Thank you for all the support last year.

Dylon Colour Catcher Sheets Review

This product was invented the year I was born. It's now the first day of 2017 and I'm only just reviewing them.

I never thought I'd be reviewing a product of this kind, ever, basically because I don't actually mind doing separate washes or even hand washing the odd item to prevent colour runs. More recently though throughout December I've found the washing stacking up more and more as we've been away quite a lot. I've literally been dumping anything in the washing machine, regardless of colours! I've been so busy I haven't even cared. Rhun had a new christmas onesie which was red with penguins on it. It literally dyed my light blue jeans pink! I was actually crying, I mean it served me right but I was still massively gutted. From that moment on I decided to start been a bit more careful when it came to my washing, even if I was in a rush. I picked up a packet of Dylon colour catcher sheets from Poundland and decided to give them a go.

I wasn't expecting a huge amount by conducting this experiment but went ahead anyway. Here's the results when I washed a brand new pair of blue socks of Rhuns with mixed washing. I didn't have any colour runs what so ever, I was so amazed I had to write a blog about how good these sheets are. You can clearly see the evidence in the image below. I now use these on all mixed and colour washes without fail, I swear by these.

They are so easy to use I can't even imagine not using them, also you can pick them up really cheap too. They are the new 'must have' in my house! I'm well aware they've been out forever but as I've only just taken the plunge to trial them they're new to me.

Here's the instructions, 3 simple steps-

  • Place the sheet(s) at the back of the machine drum before loading the washing.
  • Add your detergent and select the appropriate washing cycle according to the garment manufacturer’s instructions.
  • At the end of the wash remove and dispose of the sheet(s) and dry the clothing as soon as possible.

DYLON Colour Catcher – the No. 1 laundry sheets brand in the UK and ROI* – offers a sheet with extra absorbent fibres for maximum protection and great colour results.
These are its 6 distinctive benefits:
1) Prevents colour run accidents

The main point of these sheets, life savers, colour catches
2) Allows mixed washes

This is an absolute godsend
3) Protects colour brightness

That's absolutely true, clothes look brand new still
4) Prevents greying

I've noticed the whites stay whiter on mixed washes
5) Effective at all temperatures

I've successfully used these colour sheets at various temperatures including 30 degree washes and a few 60 degree washes.
6) Prevents residual dirt redepositing

True!
The proof is on the sheet®!

HIGHLY RATED PRODUCT AND A DAILY FAVOURITE FOR US!

You can buy them below -

They also have quite a few products on their website so i'll be trying a few of those in the near future.
